Hello and welcome to the land of Chontai Studios. My name is Benjamin Piper (That's me on the left), one of the founders of such a place. A friend of mine (That would be him on the right) and I first came up with this name a number of years ago. After several attempts at creating other sites under various names, we finally sat down and came up with what we thought was the perfect name to describe our art and skills. Though the meaning of the words has no real value to others, it just stuck to us and has remained unchanged. I started exploring my artistic skills around about the age of 12. My art quickly progressed and passed the point of what my mother likes to call "refrigerator art". I started off with Corel Draw 4 as my first computer graphics experience. I gradually taught myself through trial and error how to work the various graphic software. So followed other programs such as PhotoShop, Freehand, Director, Flash and many others. This was also the trend with my web coding experience. Starting with the basics that AOL had to offer at the time, I learned how to go beyond what their software had to offer. I continued to learn by searching the web for ways to do bigger, better effects. I soon started college while still in high school with dual enrollment classes. Taking from what I had learned on my own, I was able to excel in school using my free time to help my fellow students. I now have an Associates degree in Electronic Imaging and Graphics and am working toward a Bachelors of Arts in Computer Graphics. I also have a keen interest in the Japanese language and culture. I am currently studying the language and hope to master it one day. The part of the Japanese culture that interests me the most is the Samurai legacy. The times and arts of the Samurai have long fascinated me. I hope one day to be able to visit Japan and interact with it's people on a personal level. I have built this current site to display my artistic talents and develop my skills for later use in the Computer Graphics area. I hope you enjoy my artwork and your stay at my site. Thanks for visiting, Benjamin Piper Webmaster
